I liked this week. I like that we all get along we'll. I liked the sandwich competition, our sandwich was good, but obviously didn't like it.
ReplyDeleteWell... Hmm, I'm not trying to toot my own horn, but the team I was in won with our zesty avocado sandwich. Janessa, Ashlyn, and I did a pretty good job. We all had to learn the different kinds of sandwiches : hot open faced, cold open faced, hot closed, and cold closed. Our mission for the competition was to create a sandwich, which we drew randomly, with the right requirements. All of us made pretty good sandwiches.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed myself this week, but I always do. I liked the competition even tho we didn't win, because I'm a competitive person.
ReplyDeleteThis week we did breakfast foods and sandwhiches. We had hot open faced sandwhich, we created a grilled cheese sandwhich and added bacon and apples. It was super good. I really liked the sandwhich with the bagel. My favorite out of the fifty world breakfast is the Hawaiian, Swedish, and Brazilian, American, French, and Russian breakfasts.
ReplyDeleteThe most delicious breakfasts to me were the English the Brazilian the German and the Canadian
ReplyDeleteBahamas breakfast- love shrimp!!!
ReplyDeleteHealthy Hawaiian- I love fruit for breakfast
A full English breakfast- looks yummy
This week in class I learned a lot about sandwiches. I never knew before this week that pizza was considered a sandwich. I learned how to classify sandwiches based on whether they are hot or cold and open or closed faced. Pizza is considered a hot open-faced sandwich. I enjoyed doing our sandwich competition, and I realized while doing it now hard it is to make a sandwich with a decent amount of meat in under $1.50. My group made a hot open faced sandwich with a cream cheese spread, sliced Granny Smith apples, cheddar cheese and bacon. It sounds like it would taste horrible, but it is actually not to bad.
ReplyDeleteOff of the website, I chose #7, #13, and #19. I chose #7 the Hawaiian breakfast because it is appealing to the eye and brings me back to my time in Hawaii. When I was in Hawaii I loved having fresh fruits for breakfast every morning, and it was healthy. #13 was the Italian breakfast with a croissant. I chose this because I love chocolate and croissants so it would be a great breakfast food. I chose #19 the American breakfast because I absolutely love pancakes and blueberries.
My first favorite breakfast was the Moroccan style breakfast. This was inviting because it looked tasty. I like how there are eggs and cheese incorporated with the swee bread and what looks like jam. My second favorite breakfast was the Hawaiian breakfast. I liked this one because it is full of fresh fruit. You cannot get anymore healthy and delicious than fresh fruit and a toasted bagel. My last favorite breakfast was the Brazilian breakfast. The whole breakfast was made up of meats, cheeses, and bread.
ReplyDeleteThis week during culinary I relearned how to do the cost sheets. I also learned all the different types of sandwiches and their classifications. We had a competition where we made sandwiches and my group won. My favorites breakfasts were the one from Peru because I just thought it sounded good and looked good. The second one I liked was the one from the Philippines because it was huge and I like seafood. The third one was the one from Hawaii because it was bright and colorful and love fruit!
ReplyDeleteThis week in class I enjoyed learning about the differences in sandwiches. I never knew that there were categories like hot or cold, open or closed for sandwiches. Eating sandwiches with apples was a completely new experience for me.
ReplyDeleteMy three favorite breakfasts from the blog would have to be the ones from Thailand, Italy, and Sweden. I liked the Thailand meal because it was very different from the breakfasts I am used to and had a sauce that looked very yummy. I thought the the Italian breakfast would be good because I really enjoy coffee in the morning and croissants are delicious. The Swedish meal also looked good because I've had Swedish pancakes before, but never with a topping; I think a fruit topping would make them a very tasty breakfast.
This week in class we learned about open and closed face sandwiches. There are hot and cold types for both. We were each assigned to find an example of the types of sandwiches. Then we were put into groups to make one of the sandwiches. My group had to make a cold open sandwich that was under $1.50. Our sandwich was a cucumber sandwich. It was very simple yet surprisingly delicious. It was so good we got second place in the competition.
ReplyDeleteThis week in class we turned our focus to the sandwich portion of our unit. Were given the task to find one example of a cold closed, cold open, hot closed, and hot open sandwiches. We were then assigned groups to decide on our final 4 sandwiches and price each out so they were only $1.50 per serving. Then, we randomly selected the hot open to complete in competition. We won third place with our bacon and apple grilled cheese sandwich open sandwich.
ReplyDeleteMy three favorite breakfasts from the 50 of the World's Greatest Breakfasts are the Healthy Hawaiian Breakfast, the Famous American Breakfast, and the French Breakfast. First of all, I found the Hawaiian Breakfast very inviting from all the bright fruit colors. The way the breakfast was presented was also very inviting. I love having fruit for breakfast so I quickly found it a favorite of mine. Secondly, I found the American Breakfast a favorite also. I liked it because it is something I eat on a regular basis. Almost every week my mom makes pancakes and bacon for breakfast. The blueberries on the pancakes made the dish look very inviting and it was an automatic favorite for me. Lastly, I chose the French Breakfast. I liked the French breakfast because the croissants looked fresh and delicious. The breakfast was plain, but that is why I liked it. It looks like a nice light breakfast that I would enjoy. The three breakfasts I chose for my favorite were all something that I am familiar with. Some of the other breakfasts were very large and were more of dinners to me. My favorites were inviting and appeared very delicious to me.
ReplyDeleteAfter looking at 50 of the world's best breakfasts, I found it fairly difficult to pick just one. The first that I saw was number five, the quick Spanish breakfast. This seemed really nontraditional and simple apart from some of the more elaborate courses. Just bread with garlic, tomato, olive oil and salt is all it would take to make this. In a way it would seem like having pizza for breakfast. Next is number seven, the Hawaiian breakfast. This looked great because of all the fresh fruit which seemed would make up for more than just one serving per day. The vibrant colors and the whole wheat bagel would also be simple the put together in the morning. Finally, number 13, the Italian breakfast, just because of its chocolate drizzled pastry and cappuccino. A sweet and quick breakfast for a busy morning.
ReplyDeleteOver the past week we have spent our time working mainly on breakfast foods in class. The website above gave some weird looking breakfast dishes but I did find three that looked appetizing to me. The first was the Hawaiian dishes because it was mainly fruit. Second was the German dish which consist of meat and cheese and the third was the dish from Venezuela. This dish was one of my favorites because it is an empanada. Growing up in the house of a Spanish teacher you learn quickly what some of the foods are that they eat. I remember when I was little mom made them for me once and I loved them. These dishes would be so easy for anyone to make and pretty much everyone would love them.

ReplyDelete1 a full English breakfast looks to die for so much food and so much meat!!!!
2 Moroccan breakfast looks good but not very filling
3 a healthy Hawaiian breakfast sounds very good because I love fruit!
