The lesson that I feel is the most important is to embrace the joy of cooking. This would mean to slow down and appreciate the little things around the kitchen. I found out that Julia was one to truly appreciate the culinary arts. She defiantly lacked culinary knowledge before she began her classes and was in a difficult situation when she was learning. There was the fact that she was in France and also that one of the instructors didn't find her suitable for the culinary profession. I feel that these obstacles made her much more appreciative of cooking.
ReplyDeleteThe recipe that I have found to be both very popular and fairly simple is Julia Child's French Onion Soup. I have had a more simple variation of this recipe, but this one seems to be much more flavorful based on the spices given. I always like recipes that put a spin on a normal dish.
